Swim or dine with the luxury of one of the finest views of the Aegean seaside. This is Bodrum, the ancient city of Halikarnassos (1200 BC), the birthplace of Herodotus and site of the Mausoleum of King Mausolus (350 BC), reckoned to be one of the Seven Wonders of the world. Next door is the antique theatre greeting you. As you leave reception and reach the first terrace, or find yourself in the swimming pool area, the imposing Castle of the Knights of St. John across the bay will amaze you. And in the distance is the crystal clear water of the Aegean.

From what was once a fishing village, yachts slip anchor for a "Blue Voyage", shorthand for the exploration of a life time aboard hand-made wooden replicas of old sailing boats of the Aegean region, fully equipped, however, with all modern amenities, along the coves of a naturally beautiful coast, rich in history and ancient mythology. Bodrum is less than a two hour drive from Virgin Mary's house near Selçuk where she arrived accompanied by St. John, and the city of Ephesus where St. Paul once preached to the Ephesians. Ephesus where another of the Seven Wonders of the world, Temple of Artemis, stood is now restored to mirror its classic splendour.

Bodrum is a friendly place just to stroll. A walk down the winding alleys takes you past artisans who still craft according to traditions that are centuries old. The old Castle houses the world-famous Marine Archeology Museum displaying a unique collection of vestiges dating from 2000 BC, and the oldest known shipwreck.

The climate is warm enough to swim eight months of the year but comfortably low in humidity. The Mediterranean cuisine is fresh and wonderful. Unpolluted beaches of Ortakent and Gumbet are easily accessible, the latter being only two km away from the Hotel.
