Hikayemiz

x-ist hem genç hem de orta kuşak çağdaş sanatçıların evrensel fikre dayalı eser üretimini desteklemek amacıyla 2004'te kurulmuş bir galeridir.

x-ist evrensel çağdaş sanatın yarınına kucak açar. Keşfetmeye değer yetenekleri uluslararası kriterlerle değerlendirerek onların dünya çapında görünürlüğünü ve yükselişini hedefler.

x-ist sanatçıları kurumun çalışanları değil, sahipleridir. Kurum, onların zamana ve uzama bağlı olmaksızın fikir ve önerilerini değerlendirerek yapıya olan pozitif katkılarını sürekli kılmayı amaçlar.

x-ist ideolojilere değil ideallere inanır. İyi sanatsal üretimin zaman içinde idealist bir beyan olarak kimlik kazanacağını bilir ve buna saygı gösterir.

x-ist yapısı gereği ne elitist ne de popülisttir. Sanatın kendisi dışında taraf değildir, özel bir sınıfa hitap etmez, eşitlikçidir, sanatın toplumsal aidiyetini savunur.

x-ist risk alır, risk almaya teşvik eder. Yapıyı sorgulamayan, kolaya kaçan üretimin yanısıra, saf materyalist zihniyeti de reddeder.

x-ist iyi fikirle iyi uygulamanın ayrılmaz bütünlüğünü, buna bağlı olarak doğru üretim için içerikle bağlam ilişkisinin de doğru kurgulanması gerektiğini savunur.

x-ist statükoculuğu reddeder, yaratıcı devinimi destekler. Simulatif olmayan, sağlıklı bir öğrenme sürecinin ancak yapının kendi içsel dinamiklerinden beslenerek evrileceğini öngörür.

x-ist tek kişi hegemonyasına değil takım çalışmasına inanır. Yapının temeltaşı olan kurum çalışanlarını motive edecek her türlü fikir üretimini destekler, tartışır ve uygular.

x-ist is an art gallery founded in 2004 in order to support both young and mid-career contemporary artists in their professional endeavors.

At x-ist, we welcome the future of contemporary art based on international criteria. We present and promote talents that are worth discovering worldwide, strive for their visibility and rise on a universal platform.

The artists at x-ist are not mere employees but the real owners of the institution. The gallery aims to sustain their positive contribution to the system through an objective appraisal of their ideas and suggestions which is independent of time and space.

At x-ist we champion ideals, not ideologies. We know and respect the fact that superior artistic production will, in due time, obtain an identity as an idealist statement.

At x-ist we are neither elitists nor populists. We do not take sides other than that of art, we do not serve a privileged few, we are egalitarians and we believe art is for the masses.

At x-ist we take risks and encourage others to do the same. We reject a pure materialistic mentality as well as all productions that do not question the system and go down the easy road.

At x-ist we defend the unbreakable unity between a fine idea and a superb application which in turn necessitates a precise construction of the relationship between content and context.

At x-ist we reject status quo and advocate creative movement. We envisage the evolution of a healthy and non-simulative learning process only through its own internal dynamics.

At x-ist we embrace teamwork; we oppose the hegemony of one man. We support, brainstorm and exercise all kinds of motivational ideas for our employees who form the backbone of our institution.
