Hikayemiz

The ECO Trails is a 2-year, Turkish government funded project that will provide Köyceğiz-Ortaca-Dalaman region of SW Turkey with waymarked long distance hiking and cycling trails. Hikers and cyclists to visit the region primarily in spring and autumn will enjoy a well established infrastructure for daily or multi-day hiking and cycling tours thanks to waymarked routes, a comprehensive website, an English-Turkish Guide book and detailed hiking and cycling maps of the region.

The ECO Trails, when officialy opened in September 2017, will provide connection to the popular hiking routes Carian Trail and the Lycian Way, as well as to the newly opened Marmaris Cycling Routes.

The project is run by the Dalyan Dernek, a non-profit environmental protection association based in Dalyan, Mugla, together with Köyceğiz, Ortaca and Dalaman Municipalities, Muğla Chamber of Commerce, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University and several hiking and cycling associations as project partners. The major financer is GEKA (South Aegean Development Agency) of the Turkish Government.
