I was there long ago but I remember it was very easy to get to all major tourist attractions in that important part of the city. The street is quite crowded and packed with cars. The hotel says it has parking but in reality you have to leave your car key at the reception and a valley finds you a spot in the street. The rooms are clean, but one may find them a bit noisy especially if you are into going to bed early. Staff is polite but English is quite a challenge to them.

la fermata del tram per raggiungere l'hotel è Gülhane hotel centrale nel quartiere sultanahmet con tutte le bellezze del posto raggiungibili facilmente a piedi. ho preso la camera al 4 piano perchè provvista di balcone e vista su hagia sofia mentre la colazione si fa in terrazza al quinto piano dove è possibile vedere lo stretto del bosforo. camera molto pulita e moderna, con due cuscini per persona, di diffenti dimensioni e morbidezza(ottimo!) le dimensioni sono molto contenute e persone "extra large" potrebbero trovare scomodo sia raggiungere il letto dal lato, sia nel bagno qualche problemino di orientamento visto che il water è sulla sinistra dietro la porta, ma parliamo di persone dalle dimensioni di molto larghe, quindi da non prendere alla lettera, a me è piaciuto tutto anche l'organizzazione in generale visto che in reception ti forniscono gratuitamente una piccola mappa dove ti segnano la posizione dell'hotel ed altre informazioni che servono, cercheranno di vendervi una cartina o guida più dettagliata, se vi servono le prendete altrimenti ringraziate. connessione wifi molto buona ed ottimo segnale anche in stanza. Colazione davvero ricca e con molta scelta tra salato e dolce.

Where to start? Location is really good for tourists, but not much night life. Within walking distance of pretty much all tourist attractions. If you are a female, prepare to get hit on by the wait staff. They refill shampoo bottles, and as someone who has worked in the hotel shampoo/shower gel/lotion industry, they are SOO cheap to manufacture, and it's disgusting that they refill them. (And yes, I saw a guy walking around with a squeeze bottle of shampoo going into the rooms). I'm pretty sure there was mold in the fridge (it was a black thing of some sort, but I poured everything I kept in the fridge into a glass, and kept no food in it). I was given a choice of quiet room, with no windows, or a slightly loud room with windows (it really wasn't all that loud, and the A/C worked so I didn't have to keep the window's open). Rooms were a little outdated (carpet and wall paper, bed was okay. had a flat screen TV). When I checked in I had asked if I could stay an extra night, and the guy checking me in said that should not be a problem. (I verified I could stay until Friday night, he again said no problem). Thursday morning came around and I got a call asking when I was going to check out. I said "tomorrow". He said, "no there is no room available, you must check out today/now." I went down and talked to him and he was quite rude. He told me "There are no rooms in the area, you will have to find some place else." I asked for a recommendation "We have already received many calls from other people looking for a room." I found a hotel near the airport.
