Sirvan Sofrasi in #Istanbul is pleased to bring you all special Turkish, Ottoman, Anatolian dishes in historical Sultanahmet near the Blue Mosque
Sirvan Sofrasi means the house of male lions.
It is also the name of a city from Azerbaijan and the name of the town Siirt, in eastern Turkey. Sirvan is an established family business with decades of restaurant experience behind them, and has five other restaurants around Turkey.
We are located at the heart of the historical center of Istanbul, Sultanahmet, and just 20m from the sea (Catladi kapi gate). Close to the Blue mosque, the little Haggia Sophia mosque and Arayan bazaar, 100m from Blue mosque and 20m from many other places of interest.
Along with fresh mezes and salads, we offer a variety of dishes which reflect the diverse culture of our unique geography, for example Turkish, Ottoman and Anatolian specialties.
Our restaurant is popular with both local people and visitors, who enjoy the extra flavours and textures available due to both our stone and and wooden ovens and our two chefs, Aslan usta (an expert in specialist dishes) and Cahit usta (our resident expert in the different ovens).
First we serve balloon bread (fresh warm pita) with some butter, then our mezes and warm appetizers and then depending on your order: Kebap, Ottoman Anatolian dishes, fish or Turkish pizzas. We also have a ‘nargile’ (water pipe) bar, with different flavours in the garden.
The restaurant Sirvan Sofrasi in Istanbul has all together 250 m2 and the capacity for 150 people, 70 seats inside and 80 outside. Sirvan Sofrasi has a terrace in the front and at the back of the restaurant a terrace and we are planning a garden with especially relaxed water pipe sits.
The staff members Oktay, Yildirim, Veysi and Haci are passionate about their work and making their customers feel welcome. They love to talk about food and explain how our dishes are made. They are passionate about making you feel welcome and take pleasure in helping you come to a decision about your food choices from our delicious menu.
Together they all speak different international languages: English, German, Spanish, Arabic, Russian and also a little Flemish, Italian and French.
You will find Sirvan restaurants in Ankara, Izmir, Diyarbakir, Siirt and Muş and now in Istanbul.
