Sacred House is a 250 years old Greek mansion hewn from caves where history, art and modern comforts meet to provide that certain old-world touch.... It is as magical and unusual as you could imagine at this very individual hotel. Everywhere are curling cadelabra, reverent icons, colourful hangings and ornate fireplaces. Step inside the elegantly appointed courtyard with its aristocratic lobby and medievally decorated atmosphere, step back to the days when master craftsmen cared a lot about the details.
Once the mansion of a Greek aristocrat, it is now a hotel where special courtesies are provided in an elegant, refined setting. Precious decorations and beautiful antique furnishings enhance the atmosphere and luxurious comfort of the 12 totally different rooms. Each room is decorated in its own very dinstictive style, the interiors reflecting the formation of the rock of which they are part.
Perhaps one of the most striking is the “Old Chapel” which actually was the chapel serving the mansion in its days as a private residence. Chevalier is a room that could have featured in many a tale of medieval mystery. Anka’s Lair features a brass bed set beneath a soaring sculpture carved into the rock; it could almost be the place where the handsome prince discovered his sleeping beauty.
And other rooms with their own tales; The King, The Sultan, Byzantium Treasury, Harem, Bacchus, Deep Forest, Room of Antique Tiles, Fullmoon Suite and Fairies Nest
Our potions, like the tartly refreshing minted lemonade that greets you on arrival, or the insistently moreish cheery liqueur of a forgotten recipe that awaits you in a crystal decanter when you first enter the room. A variety of fine Anatolian and international wine complementing our dinner menu of old, long forgotten cuisine of antiquity. Your dinner at Sacred House, served in a medieval atmosphere with antique candle sticks, silverware, and chevalier tables will be a ‘knightly’ one to remember a long time.
