Hikayemiz

"1918 yılında Rus işgali sırasında büyük bir patlamayla tahrip olan bu binanın, geçmişteki kullanım maksadı isminden de anlaşıldığı gibi cephanelikti ve 1887 yılında Sultan Abdülhamit Han tarafından Sultan Fatih'ten kalma bir yapının yerine inşa edildiği bilinmektedir. Ayrıca 1300 lü yıllara kadar uzanan ve imparatoriçe İrene tarafından toplantı maksatlı bir mekan olmasından söz edilmektedir.

Tasarım aşamasında tarihi konuma hiç dokunulmadan, tamamlayıcı unsurlardan istifade edilerek çalışma yapılmasına özen gösterilmiştir. Tesissimizin açılış aşamasına gelene kadar isimsiz bir çok fedakar insanların katkılarından istifade edilmiştir.

Tesis bin kişiye gün içinde yeni bir yaşam tarzı sunabilecek kapasiteye sahip hale getirilmiştir. Gerek hemşerilerimizin gerekse Trabzon'u turistik seyahatler için tercih etmiş olan misafirlerimizin kentimizin güzellikleriyle buluşmasına vesile olacaktır.

Tesisimizin günlük restoran ve kafe hizmetlerinin yanında, sahip olduğu imkanlarla her türlü organizasyona da hizmet verecektir.

Yesterday...
Cephanelik(Arsenal), situated in Trabzon's provincial center, hillside of Boztepe and in the south of Yenicuma district, is also recognized as Fatih or Irene Tower. Since it has no epigraph, the exact date and the reason of built is not clear.However it was recorded that the building had been built for the meeting place by Irene(1340 A.D.)
It is composed of two sections, which are 25m height and about 25-40m diameter, and both of the sections are made of hewn stone and thick telescopic walls. Both of the towers are lighted by 13 circular arched windows. The whole of the tower are taken in security walls.
The real building, which could not come in to present day, has a picture in the album of Sultan Abdülhamit in Yıldız Palace Library of İstanbul University and the date of 1887 A.D. indicates that it was used as an Arsenal.
Building was used as an Arsenal in 1916-1918 during the invasion of Russians to Trabzon but it was badly damaged by an explosion in 9 July 1919.

Today...
Cephanelik, was opened as a restaurant and cafe in 2010 after the completion of its restoration. In a short time, it has managed to bring a different aspect to Trabzon's drinking, eating and resting life.
Cephanelik has become the most important place of Trabzon with its delicious food and good services since it has opened. It addresses the wide range of customer profile with its constantly renewed menu and reformer organizations. Cephanelik, which is situated in the city centrum, reflects the glory of history on its stone walls and enables delighting ambiance with its warm and comfortable furniture. Cephanelik's customers are a generally leading people of the city, the business men and the young. Inner section of the restaurant composes of 3 floor and each floor has the capacity of 150 people.
Inner section, where one of its floor is used as a bistro cafe, thanks to its different decorations hosts the perceptivity of good service and hot delicious food conceptions. It makes a visual feast with its 37.000 square meters field, camellias, forecourt and glass willa.
With the capacity of 1000 people, Cephanelik enjoys doing the honours with its free moisture weather and perfect delicious buffet meal breakfast in green belt.
